I'm not sure how much people here still play vAu - but, hey, at least we still work on Beat-Up patch, so I made this topic to store news on our work

To moderators: This is not a hack tool and we develop it just to improve Beat-Up and One-Two party mode. We work hard on preventing people from cheating with our tool, so PLEASE LET THIS TOPIC LIVE!

F.A.Q

What is this anyway?
This is a small tool to let vAu's players enjoy "true and challenge" Beat-Up / One-Two Party songs as well as some extended features, like Winmode and FPS Boost...

So basically this is hack, no?
Yes, BUT WE WON'T LET PEOPLE HACK WITH IT! How? By locking user right at one server, by protecting core file to prevent modifying, and by BANNING players who tried to cheat if reported!

Will this damage my Audition client?
Never. Our data files are added-on and will not replace or change any of your files. Whenever you want to play normally, just go ahead and launch the normal patcher

History:

Long time ago, Beat-Up / One-Two party songs are no longer great and challenge - it just follows the same chart and makes the game boring to play! Patching Audition is a great client-solution to get new-better BU / 1-2 party songs to play, but some people always try to cheat with it and therefore this is considered bad hack! Nowadays, Beat-Up and One-Two party songs are still terrible and in some Audition version (Like vAu, for instance), it's down like cr*p! That, and we Vietnamese players decided to build our own World within vAu - just for Beaters and One-Two Players!

Patch feature

Running the loader will open this window, where you can select a few things:

Winmode: Checking this will enable Winmode feature, letting Audition run at 1024 x 768 pixels window, top-left corner. You cannot resize the window, but you are free to alt + tab and do other things

FPS Boost: If your computer cannot handle Audition well, check this option to enable FPS Boost feature. This will result in blurrier images but the Frame-Per-Second will be tweaked. Note that to use FPS Boost, you MUST use Winmode

Cập nhật: To prevent players from modifying patch, our tool runs size-checking to see if the downloaded data are newest or not. It will display whenever new files available, so you can download it

The four buttons:

Blog: Click to get to http://bupatch.org, our official site
Ladder: Click to get to the Ladder (http://bupatch.org/ladder) This is an online score board, where you can check playing result, top score, top perfects...
Zô zô: When this button available, click it and you will get into Audition
Mệt, nghỉ!: Click to quit the patch

Patch overview

First of all, this patch only run on server TD 9, channel 911 (Or TD 911). This is done to prevent cheating over other players as well as tournament server. And beside, playing around 911 will ensure you only meet players using patch

To make thing easier for everyone, we have set all the custom songs back to lv 0 (Plus "new" sign for updated songs). [M] stands for Custom song, [O] stands for Official songs (Harder version taken here) and [N] stands for Non-Audition songs (Song that not exist in the game / list)



There are a few other things to enjoy when you start playing Beat-Up mode, I have written them down in this image:



Notice: Activating new Chance mode will increase your score 20% than normal, and you are able to choose Chance before the first Note. The cycle is:

Light Blue: 2-Directions (All keys go at horizontal field)
Light Brown: Key reverted vertically (Press 1 for 7, 9 for 3 and so on)
Brown: Key reverted horizontally (Press 1 for 3, 4 for 6, 7 for 9 and so on)
Green: Key reverted symmetrically (Press 1 for 9, 4 for 6, 7 for 1 and so on)
White: Key fade-out (Disappearing near the frame)

There are a few more minor features, but I will let you guys explore it yourself

* Everyone who kicked dnxp out of room will get disconnected instantly!
* Fixed minor errors

How to use:

Download the dxm files and extract them into Audition/dxm folder
Download the patch files and extract them into Audition folder (Same folder with audition.exe)
Run the bupatch_pub.exe. Select feature and wait till button Zô zô available - click it and you will get into the game. Just enter channel 911 and voila!

Notice: In certain cases, you should disable Antivirus program before downloading / running this patch, as it may mistake the DLL / EXE as trojan.

Updated information

We have received bug reports from several users and confirmed that the 6065 patch version is having problem with Random Crash, where the game suddenly hangs up at loading screen Here is how to reduce crash rate:

- Play with less than 3 players in one room
- Use the mouse to click Ready instead of hitting F1

The crash tends to happen when Ghostschool map is selected, so using other stages will also reduce crash rate

I just detected some minor bugs in the patch and I'm going to fix the patch tonight (04 June 09). This update still didn't fix the random crash - I suspected it happens due to new features but it's not confirmed yet...

Please be aware that this is necessary to update the patch, you guys need to download newest data file before the patch is worked again

To those who may concern,

I know all of you who can read this post are the people who can “think”. This is the first and only time I post an entry in English in this blog (I have already done it in my private blog for a long time). To my point of view, you are the real Beat Up players. You are not the kind of people who only want to play Beat Up Patch, you are much different. You know English well. I didn’t say that I write well, just …

Since I am older than most of you, I will share some of my life experiences in this post to you, as an older brother.

Yes, I know many of you like my patch. And yes, I respect your interests in it. Beat Up patch has been one of my biggest favor in my life too. I have been playing it for relaxing, when I have free time. I was a student when Beat Up was first released, like all of you now. I really like the way we press arrow keys according to the music, and hear the perfect sounds.

I thought deeply today, especially when I was hanging out with my girl friend. She could not play Beat Up as well as all of you. I told her that I had stopped developing the patch, and she was very surprised. She knew I liked doing it very much. We talked a lot about our future, our jobs, our dreams… We looked at the photos we took together… We recalled the memories we had… And I suddenly felt really worried about our own future.

As all of you may know, I’m having a job, and you can say it’s a permanent one. My girl friend has a temporary one. We had some plans before our graduation. After talking to her this evening, I realized that we have missed some of them. They could not be properly done as expected.

I also realized that maintaining the patch has taken a lot of my time. Yes, an enormous amount of time. At first I developed it because it was my hobby. I’m really tired these days, and I think it isn’t my hobby anymore. I’m sorry to say that. The recent versions, 6065 and 6066, were done as I was forced to do.

I don’t like being forced.

So, what’s now? Playing game is only for relaxing, and it cannot help you to earn money for your own life. Getting good English skills (like all of you who can read this post) is much better… You can apply for jobs, or even scholarships… Developing the patch without interest is kinda useless. No imagination. No innovation. No motivation. I feel tired of maintaining and fixing the patch.

The recent versions were made because of my little sister. She likes the patch a lot. Now she has another game to play. So…

I need time for my own life, for my girl friend, for my future. She is really important to me. Sometimes I realized that I should spend more time for her….

Some people have lots of negative feelings about my patch. Actually, I don’t care about their feelings. I just don’t like being disrespected and continuously requested. The chat today with one guy is a minor reason. The main ones are mentioned above.

Ok, so what’s else? I will completely stop developing and maintaining the patch. I temporary deleted the ladder scores, but I will restore them soon. Thank all of you who encouraged and supported me during the time I develop the patch. I also want to thank the Beat Up Patch Masters team… I got lots of supports from you. You are my best assistants.

It seems that the game provider is listening to our complaints. I hope our official Beat Up would be better.

It's very sad, but without dnxp's leadership, we won't be able to continue the patch. I'm sorry to write this, but it seems the party has come to its end... Earlier than I thought...

Hey, i could help out. However, i am only capable of packing/unpacking up to level 2 compressions. Unlike the level 4 compression in your patch. I could put the slks you want into a acv. It's rather protected as well, they can unpack the files if they have the tools, but its rather hard for them to pack it back, if it is possible, i could help you continue with this patch of yours? As far as my knowledge of things are, i can only help with client sided stuffs, i cant help with hosting or setting up a server.

Thanks for your word. Our tool just run client-side stuff after all

But please consider your offer CAREFULLY. It will take PLENTY of time to pack / unpack the ACV as we release new songs frequently. Don't forget that you need to upload / download data as well.

Also it will be HARD for us to make songs without testing. Beside the public patch, we are authorized to use the private patch to freely edit ACV and test new songs creating before released them. So with 2nd ACV solution, we will not be able to test songs unless someone allowed us to use new ACV tool

If you still want to take that risk, remember that you will be requested adding acv at any time. I know you're one of the rarely person have permission to use new acv tool, so I really don't want to trouble you. Of course you are not allowed to share this tool whatsoever, so we cannot help you back

Although dnxp has canceled patch updating, the 6066 version is still coded whatsoever. Therefore after cooling down, he decided to re-open the Public Patch for vAu's 6066 version and this is the LAST patch version! You guys can play the patch till 6067 update - enjoy the last time!
