Have you lot read this one yet?
Quote:Dear Clubbers,
We regret to inform that all DJ Steve music in AuditionSEA will be removed with the May 2009 game client patch.
This is due to Playpark Forumites' hardworking findings & original artiste of Burning Summer had stepped in to prove that the songs were not originally created by him, unlike otherwise stated in his contract with Asiasoft.
We thank all players for their support for DJ Steve, and we would like to assure clubbers that Asiasoft does not have any links with DJ Steve at all.
Moving on, different genre of songs(English, Korean, Chinese and more!) will be introduced every month to AuditionSEA! Stay close with us for future updates!

OFFTOPIC - They sort of... mispelled the word Administrator LOL

*dances* He breeched (breached) the contract with AsiaSoft, of not using Original songs.
WWWWAAAAAAAA!!!!!
no more techno-pop songs??
Oh well, at least they're gonna add songs monthly. I hope so...
lol DJ Steve got himself into trouble now XD
Won't he get sued or something like that? o.o
Why did he even do that <.<

Dj steve didn't do it, xD. The person impersonating him did LOL. The whole name was a made up thingy from some guy on Newgrounds. It's soo weird. However rumor has it, people spread news on The forums and I guess Asiasoft looked into it. This sucks though, does that mean they wont take new aspiring artist in?
Like it or not, the songs will be gone. While I did enjoy them, it's a shame he didn't make them himself.
To make matters worse, he won't get sued nor banned from AuditionSEA because he didn't violate the User Abuse policy. Whether or not he ever shows up again to confess is up to him. It doesn't matter, anyway.
Here's the thread at PlayPark forums that talks about everyone's evidence and stuff. Haha, I never got a chance to post in there!
On the bright side, this is a sign of getting anybody's songs on AuditionSEA if they wanted to.
I don't really like dj steve music....well, whoever it's made by xD
so this doesn't affect me, i'm glad that it's being taken out in the sense that it wasn't his, so it shouldn't remain in game.

Yeah but I had music ready I sent it to them and we were almost done with the process and they suddenly changed emails, how will I get my songs to them now? and yeah I MADE MY SONGS LOL I'm not DJ steve but I made all my songs!
I wonder how stupid was asiasoft was in the first place?

It's actually pretty easy to fake the music and pretend like it's yours especially with all the youtube promotion he has gotten! I'm sort of surprised it's gone on for this long. However atleast they have finally chosen to do something about it so I'm proud ^^.
I'm just mad though how he got all that cash

unless it was a free thing.
While Oddbrother pretty much explained enough for everyone to understand what's going on, I wanted to add a few things:
- Not only did he change the credits and replaced some (but not all) of the song titles with synonyms, he was also planning on selling an album with some of those songs in it. While he did break the Creative Commons license in terms of changing credits (these weren't remixed so you can't change them), it's somewhat difficult to sue "DJ Steve" since the songs were royalty-free. I don't know if he actually sold any copies of his album, nor do I know if the album was for non-profit purposes (charging only to cover the costs of the CD would technically still follow the Creative Commons license).
- Asiasoft can't do it since they "contributed" (unintentionally of course) and can only use the liability waiver portion of their contract to protect themselves, and the artists probably can't do it since royalty-free songs that are freely downloadable at the Newgrounds Audio Portal do not produce any profits. The only ones who can possibly benefit from a litigation would be the lawyers...
- Also, he didn't make any money from Asiasoft, since the contract was designed to be bloody cheap and only for royalty-free songs assuming it's the same contract as Oddbrother's agreement. "DJ Steve" agreed to allow the songs to remain royalty-free for Asiasoft to distribute in AuditionSEA.
- The album would've taken off with his girlfriend designing the website and album cover... That is, until "DJ Steve" underestimated and assumed his girlfriend was culturally dead and produced an anniversary gift for her.
- The now ex-girlfriend blew the whistle and informed the PPF community where people like
Flip [it was his brother actually] sounded the alarms, gathered the evidence (wasn't hard to look with the ex-girlfriend leading the way), and raised Asiasoft's awareness of this.
- So what pissed her off? She realised right off the bat her anniversary gift was a song by Usher. "DJ Steve" claims he played the guitar while his cousin performed the vocals. HAH! He was so close to getting away with it too...
- Honestly though, I don't really know what's preventing these songs from being on AuditionSEA... Since they're royalty-free songs from mostly amateur artists, I doubt they would mind having their songs featured in a game provided they were contacted beforehand. Pass them the same contract, change the credits, and voila, the restoration of the exact same songs.
- As for kentaroron, I suggest two things. Present a case directly and indirectly to Asiasoft. Directly by sending a Q-Box message along with any kind of evidence that you produced the song (maybe a raw track of a single instrument if you use multitrack editting), and indirectly by posting in PPF and having the community backing you up, which will eventually make Peridot or Fujiko notice. Obviously avoid posting raw tracks in there since you don't want anyone sharing that. Should be enough to gain Asiasoft's approval and have them crap out another cheap-ass contract.

Alrighty I will do that then, Yeah I really liked some songs but I guess he was really wrong for that. However the thing is Asiasoft is really skeptical about music now since that licensing issue that pretty much screwed them over for like a year or two. I will get on with my music on the forums and see if they will notice!
