Now, for those that don't know what DJ MAX is; it's a rhythm game. You could figure that out from the gameplay video. Somewhat like O2Jam, if you want to compare it to another game. You press buttons when the timing is due. Very addicting. I read somewhere it was planned to hit November 11, 2008? Someone want to correct me, if I'm wrong.
This game should have a number of combined songs from Portable 1 and 2, and possible a new set of sound tracks. Who knows?

The Korean sensation heads stateside.

August 12, 2008 - A few years ago, aspiring Korean DJs started tapping beats in time with PSP music and racking up high scores. The game was called DJ Max, and Americans would never know the game's glory unless they were ready to call their favorite import shops.
That's about to change.
PM Studios announced this morning that it will be publishing Pentavision's DJ Max Fever in the United States. The basic gist of the game is that players pick songs and then need to tap corresponding buttons as icons cross a line above said button indicators. It's kind of like the Guitar Hero concept mixed up with scratching, techno beats, and scantily clad female DJs. For more on the nuts and bolts of gameplay, check out a preview IGN did at GDC 07 when a version of the game -- which might or might not be Fever -- cropped up in San Francisco.
DJ Max Fever announced to have limited edition as Portable 2 counter part
PSPFanBoy Wrote:The DJ Max games in Korea received some ridiculously cool, and expensive, limited edition sets (pictured, above). Looks like the upcoming US release of DJ Max Fever will follow suit. However, it may be hard to find at your local retailer. Michael Yum from PM Studios explained to Bemanistyle: "We are currently working on the limited edition package. Being a new publisher, it is very hard for us to get commitments from retailers on the limited edition."Source: http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/09/15/dj-m...n-run-dlc/
Game Director Ki In Kim also added that DLC may be in the works for Fever. "Downloadable content is something we are planning right now." Considering the success of DLC for music games on consoles, we think that's a pretty smart idea

For those that have either DJ Max Portable 1 or DJ Max Portable 2, how about we share some scores? I have my DJ Max Portable 2 loaded, and trying to surpass my current high score on any number of songs as we speak. That or at least post some thoughts about it, for sure I'm getting Fever.
DJ MAX Clazziquai Edition Wrote:
DJ Max Portable Clazziquai Edition (DJMAX Portable Clazziquai Edition, DMP:CE) is a music video game published and developed by Pentavision in South Korea for the PlayStation Portable which was released on October 20, 2008. This is the third title for the PlayStation Portable from in the DJ Max Portable series, after DJ Max Portable 2. As the game title suggests, it is a Clazziquai-themed DJ Max Portable and a prologue to DJ Max Portable Black Square; though it is considered by most as a major release in the DJ Max series.
This version includes new songs from DJ Max Technika, 015B, BJJ, and from Clazziquai's 2008 mini album Metrotronics. Two additional modes have been revealed for the game, 2B and 4BFX. Clazziquai Edition is aimed for casual gamers unlike it's previous game, the hardcore gamers will have their own version of DJ Max Portable, known as DJ Max Portable Black Square from the METRO project.
[edit] New Features
* 48 unique songs, including songs from DJ Max Technika, and Clazziquai's 2008 mini album Metrotronics.
* Menus:
Club Tour- Play in different club, each club is one of three gameplay types. The player must complete half the objectives to unlock the next club, but when the player completes every objective in a club, they get the Club's Emblem, which is the club's icon on the Club Tour Map. This mode is composed of 7 different areas with 4 clubs each, except the last area which only has 1 club. The game's songs that are not unlocked by Link Disc (for those without the Platinum Crew Patch) are unlocked in this mode.
Club Types:
* Music: This type gives the player a list of songs to play and the player must complete each song.
* Repertory: This type has several sets of songs given to the player, the player must complete each song in the set in order it's shown to complete the set.
* Mission: This type has various other DJ's sorted by Rank and sometimes button modes with specific goals. The player pays some gold to accept the challenge and must meet the goal given to them by the DJ before the song ends (like finish the song with an accuracy of 91% or higher, finish the song with a combo of 8,000 or more). If the player wins, their rank goes up and will earn a new title when they reach a certain rank. If they lose their rank goes down. Players cannot challenge a DJ if the DJ's rank is too high compared to theirs.
NOTE: The player can only improve their rank by completing missions in mission-type clubs. Just as the player can't challenge a DJ if the DJ's rank is to high compared to theirs, the player can't enter a club unless their rank matches that of the club rank or higher (EX: club rank is 150, can't enter unless rank is 150 or higher).
Arcade- The basic DJ Max game mode, play through one of 6 button modes in 3 stages each with your choice of a song from a list, the songs get harder the more buttons you use and the higher the stage.
Album- A combination of M/V and O.S.T. You can switch the mode by pressing the Square button to view either the M/V or O.S.T.
Collection- You can view records of the songs you have played, Play Count, Images (Wallpapers which you can save on to your PSP memory stick), Movies, Emblems (Collected by completing each club in Club Tour) and Internet Ranking (Password to enter your scores into the Official Website (Not Available yet)).
Option- Data Install for faster loading times, Language comes in Korean, Japanese and English, you can set the display of the Combo Count either IN the gear or OUT of the gear and the Fever bar can be either Classic (DJ Max Portable 2) or New (The bar is on the left side of the gear).
Network- Multi-Player using Ad-hoc PSP connections.
Link Disc - Connect to DJ Max Portable 1 or 2, even to DJ Max Portable Black Square as well. Link Disc with DJ Max Portable unlocks the Oblivion Gear, 3 avatars (2 from DJ Max Portable's opening movie, and 1 from the Music Video for Hamsin), and the song: Elastic Star ~UK Garage Mix~. Link Disc with DJ Max Portable 2 unlocks the Summer Time Gear, 2 Avatars (1 from the video for Brand New Days, the other from the video for Syriana), and the song: Syriana. Link Disc with Black Square unlocks the song: Proposed, Flower, Wolf.
NOTE:
1. Link Disc in Clazziquai Edition doesn't let you play songs from the previous games, but unlocks content for Clazziquai Edition.
2. You must have the UMD of DJ Max Portable, Portable 2, and/or Black Square to use this mode.
* Game Modes:
2B- uses ◄ and ▲ as 1 button, and Triangle and Circle as 1 button, the middle is for the analog spinning notes.
4B- uses ◄ , ▲, Triangle, and Circle buttons
5B- uses ◄ , ▲, Square and ► as 1 button, Triangle and Circle buttons
4BFX- a variation of 6B, uses ◄ , ▲, Triangle, Circle, buttons along with the L and R shoulder Buttons.
6B- uses ◄ , ▲, ►, Square, Triangle, and Circle buttons.
Freestyle- Play songs with out the stage and combo limit in any button modes. You have to unlock the song first in order to play it.
* Full Motion Videos- The Videos in the Background are more detailed in motion and animation.
* Sound Equalizer While Playing- Off, Unique, Heavy, Pops, Jazz - DJ Max uses PlayStation's built-in equalizer enhancements.
* Simplified Analog Use- Use of one direction for the Analog Stick, not just circling.
* Media Install Ready - Part of the game can be installed on the PSP Memory Stick to decrease loading times.
* Effectors Change - New Effectors:
Fever- Sets the maximum Fever multiplier. Fever can either be Automated or Manually activated which on the latter, player can decide to activate Fever-Mode once it reaches the maximum Fever multiplier. Note that the automated Fever gauge fills up slower than that of the manual.
HP UP- Increases maximum HP.
Auto- Counts a certain number of missed notes as a Max 1% hit or allows for easy long notes (by holding after the note ends, get 100%)
Track- Adds the Note effects such as Blinking.
DJ Max Black Square Edition Wrote:
DJ Max Portable Black Square (Korean: 디제이맥스 포터블 블랙 스퀘어, DMP BS) is a music game for the Playstation Portable developed by South Korean developer Pentavision released on December 24, 2008 [1]. This is the third major game of the DJMAX series released for the PSP. The game includes various enhancements and new features built on from DJ Max Portable 2 and the prequel game DJ Max Portable Clazziquai Edition. On September 2, 2008, game details and video footage was released. The original aim was to launch the game in November, however due to numerous bugs found in DJ Max Portable Clazziquai Edition , the release of DMP Black Square was postponed.
Features
* The same features as Clazziquai Edition, but with increased difficulty and an almost completely different song list.
* The same interface as Clazziquai Editon, but with a "Bling Style" appearance.
* Enhanced Fever (can go up to x7 multiplier).
* Extended Club Tour Mode.
* 2B Mode has been removed, but 4BFX remains.
* 8B Mode has been re-introduced into the series as 6BFX.
* New Specialized Note: A note appears that's a different color than the rest, hitting these notes gives the player 1,000 bonus points and 1,000 extra points every time they hit another note of the same kind (ex: hit once: 1,000, hit twice, 2,000, hit ten times: 10,000). The note also has a penalty for missing it. If the note is missed, the music stops. The music starts playing again when the next special note is hit, and the extra points are reset to 1000.
* Introducing RD (Redesign) song patterns- Some songs have a special pattern, called RD style, that appears in the place of MX patterns on the song selection screen. This pattern is basically the music rearranged into different places in the song, along with the notes to hit. The RD songs can also be listened to on a special disc in Album Mode.
* Link Disc with DJ Max Portable Clazziquai Edition: This allows players to play the songs of Clazziquai Edition, along with Black Square exclusive song patterns (song difficulties), even RD patterns. Link Disc with DJ Max Portable 1 and 2 only unlocks avatars, songs, notes, and gears.

DJ MAX Technika Wrote:Info from Wikipedia: Just going to assume it's true.
DJ Max Technika is an Arcade only music game published and developed by Pentavision in South Korea. This was the first game announced as part of the DJ Max METRO PROJECT. This game will be released in North America by PM Studios.
Cabinet Specs
The Arcade Cabinet consists of two screens, a bottom 22-inch touch screen where the game is played, and a upper 32-inch screen for spectators to view, both in Hi-Definition. There is a vibrating stage and game-based lights and speakers. There is an ID-Card Reader for people who have a Platinum Crew ID Card.
Gameplay
* The game offers 4 gameplay types:
Lite Mixing - the tutorial, and 3 songs are played
Popular Mixing - 3 songs are played
Technical Mixing - A course of 4 songs are played with the songs selected by the player from a list that differs depending on the course chosen. The player chooses 3 songs from the list, but the last song is always random, sometimes even a song that's not on the list.
Platinum Mixing - only available to people who have a Platinum Crew ID Card. Not much is known about it except it will have songs exclusive to this mode and will be online.
* The player has 30 seconds to pick a song. If the timer hits zero, the song currently highlighted will be chosen.
* The player must touch the notes as the time line crosses them. If they fail to touch them after the time line passes them, it counts as a break, which means the combo is reset to zero and the player loses HP, which is also recovered when notes are hit. When the player's HP decreases to zero, it's game over.
Note Types:
* Basic - Simply touch the note once, when time line passes over them.
* Drag Line - Drag the circular note along the path while keeping it on the time line.
* Connect - Hit all notes in the path when time line passes over them.
* Holding Long - Hold finger on the circular note until the time line passes the blue line at the end of the note.
* Repeat - Keep pressing the circular note each time the time line is on a little blue line that is part of this note.
Platinum Crew
Pentavision has released ID Cards in different packages that grants access to the Platinum Mixing mode. Players will be able to access personal information management, online regional rankings, buy items for their accounts, and play against other DJ Max players. There will also be events for Platinum Crew members. [1]
