I am just curious, but what do you think about the companies that host the game you are playing?
In Hong Kong, they usually host the Taiwan server with the same company as in HK,and one common thing about MMORPG Host in Taiwan/Hong Kong is :
"They always raise the difficulty of the game and nerf stuff, lock free things and sell them with cash."
Yeah.
You can tell how horribie the host in Taiwan/Hong Kong are
Recently,I saw one of the worst host ever.
Gamecyber.
They decide to raise the EXP required for level by 10 times.(And sell stuff that raise your exp gain by 150%.So you grind on 8 times the exp instead.)
(And while the japanese player can MAX themselves out by half a year or a year for the casuals,we probably have to grind for 20 years.)
They made the item required to change class to 2-2 CASH ONLY.
They locked an entire category of equipments(socks).
They locked all mount.(And not sell them.)
They locked countless items/sets.(And not sell them.)
They made some importants drops(refine stuff, socks, things players like) disappear.
They toned down the chance of crafting from 90% around to 50%.(And crafting is one of the main feature of this game, considering 4 out of 12 jobs are crafting jobs like farmers.)
They locked all free gift for newbies and sell them in special promotional package for 50 times it worth.
Their server crash once a day.
I mean,I know getting from p2p(japanese) to f2p seems to earn you less, but most companies earn more by putting the pretty yet useless stuff or powerful stuff in the cash shop or give you a easy way for cash while others goes the hard way(like Grand Chase).
When people heard about Game Cyber hosting this game, big bunch of people swarmed to play(It *is* very popular in japan.)
One month later, people are leaving left and right.
This game is called Emil Chronicle Online.
xD!The above story is true!
It seems that all game host companies that speak Chinese tend to screw up the game.*sigh*.
I mean, you don't see Nexon made NPCs in Maple Story mute and force you to buy cash item just to change to your second job.
=__+
