Oh, come on. You've all thought about it; what it might be like to have some big Audition tournament sometime, just amongst the people on this board. I mean, obviously, there'd be some people that, if bet on, would have 1:1 odds on winning...

Regardless, I'm kind of curious to see if you guys want to have a tournament, hosted on kAU

Go Audition Summer Playoffs

First, I have to apologise, I've cut out the team tournaments. Unfortunately, 90% of team matches would only work correctly if both teams actually played against one another, and getting six people to arrange a time they can play against one another doesn't quite work.

Second, the 'BeatUp' mode has its own tournament... ^^

And third, there is no a set of tournament rules to explain how things will go down!

-Tournament Results Rules-

1) The first post will always be updated with details about the current round of competitors. Every week (Usually on Monday), the results will be tallied from each bracket and the next round announced.

2) Each tournament will function the way a tournament of Golf does. Basically, you will be given a song and mode to play; play that mode with either another competitor or myself, and then take a screenshot of the score you obtain. That will be your score for the round; each week, when the next round is announced, a certain fraction of the remaining competitors will be cut, until the final round. Your scores do carry over from game to game; thus, scoring high in all rounds will let you stay longer, while scoring low in one round may not kill you if you didn't score very high in previous rounds.

3) To get a score registered for each round, you must send a picture of the score in a Private Message on here to me! Your recorded scores will be kept secret until they are revealed at the start of the next round, so you won't know how you're doing until that time comes. Only screenshots of matches against other competitors in the tournament or against myself (or, if I decide, some other applicable 'witness') will be allowed. You will only be allowed to submit one score each round, and if another player earlier submitted an 'official game' that involved you, only the first submitted score will be counted.
(Basically, the first submitted game I recieve that matches the round criteria that involves you will be accepted. So don't think you can play multiple games and hope to get your score up; if another person submits the score earlier...)

4) You may enter as many tournaments as you wish. In fact, you're welcome to.

5) The Playoffs competition will be done a little different (See below!)

6) Penalties for breaking the rules are simple. If you're caught, you will instantly be part of the 'cut' players in that round of the tournament; if you are caught cheating in the Playoffs, you will suffer a 10 point penalty.

-Game Rules-

1) The GM (Me) will supply the details of the match beforehand; it will include a song and a mode. The choice of stage is up to the players themselves. No, there is no favouritism involved; all players will be playing the same type of match and song. And you cannot change the song!

2) To chance or not to chance; that is the question. The answer has been decided; due to the fact that it sort of does give an unfair advantage, NO! Well, not currently. There may be a future Chance-allowing tournament, but not this one!

3) Lag sucks, we all know. That's why kAU is good, it rarely lags. If you do lag, tell your opponent; however, it is up to them as to whether or not the game will be replayed; we ask people to be honorable and allow it, however, if you saw no sign that they were actually lagging (No late Finishers, had notes all throughout and on time), you do not have to replay the game. If you're going to suck, don't try to blame it on lag. However, if you think that your opponent really did fall victim to lag, give them another chance.

4) All games will take place in Free-1 (Server 7), Channel 17, and when possible please title the room 'Go Audition Tourney'. This will let people know they are welcome to come watch, and will draw attention so you can play other competitors.

5) Just like you have the choice of Chance, you also have the choice of Freestyles; you may hit 8-key Freestyles in 4-key tournaments, or 4-key Freestyles in 8-key tournaments. It's up to you.

-Go Audition Summer Playoffs-

This one's so special, it gets its own section! The GoAudition Playoffs never requires you to play with anyone else. It's really quite simple, too. Basically, every week of the tournament, five new challenges will be posted. You must play the exact chosen song, at the exact chosen mode. Your goal: get a picture (or better yet, a replay) in of the highest results you can manage, under those conditions. It doesn't matter whether you're playing against opponents or not, you're merely trying to accomplish those goals. For each one you manage, you'll score points; sometimes based off of how well you do, sometimes just for clearing the task. This is not for the weak of heart, some of these may be... very taxing. This could be considered the overall tournament, as your results in the other tournaments will boost your success in this tournament.

1) You must be playing the exact song and mode specified, and you must play it on kAU.

2) Either save a screenshot or a replay of the accomplished task, and send it in a PM. Sending it secretly will prevent people from catching onto what their competition is like, as the results will not be revealed until the very end!

3) Each succeeded task is worth a different value. All tasks can score you a posssible full 10 points, however, the scale on which you will be graded is kept a secret; even you yourself won't know your score until they're all revealed at the end!

4) Once the tasks are changed, results for the previous tasks will no longer be accepted.

5) You will also score a small number of bonus points every time you make a cut in a tournament, plus even more bonus points for completing or winning a tournament. However, the amount is small; you will earn 2 points for every tournament cut you make. Still, that could add up...
Sounds fun~ ^_^

Certainly sounds like fun ^^... it would be cool to see everyone online at once too Big Grin I'd prefer kAU, just because there's more songs and modes to choose from.. and I found that I suck on gAU now that I'm used to kAU >_<

I guess I'd be up for 4k anything below 150 bpm (my eyes and fingers aren't what they used to be T_T)

I'd also be up for 1, 2... or.. Oooo will there be couples??! <3 hehe

eh.. question.. time zones might be a problem eh? Would mean someone at one end of the world will be up at 4 am.. Not that we don't do that already but.. lol how do we decide?

And Gala you can so go up against challengers, don't be modest Tongue
i will do guess on matchs instead [Image: ani_gg.gif]

It's terribly difficult to find a day and time convenient for everyone. :

8) 2v2 Team 8-key Mode (120-140)

I'm not sure if there would even be enough people for teams, especially 8key 3v3 @_@ We'll see I guess.

@Rai-kun, after all of this is organized and the brackets are made, there should prolly be like a weeks notice of the tournament. If someone is a no show, then I guess they're out~. =3
Also we could have special battle performances where we will do a set of songs (maybe do a boy band battle where 5 boys doing choreo and after tallying up the point total is declared the winner or Best 2 out of 3 also chance is disabled)
