GOOGLE: "We have turned the lights off. Now it's your Turn..The planet's hour"
I mean.. is this really going to help the planet? come on <_<
That's what i found some mins ago.. i can't figure how turning black a screen is going to save the world from energy loss. Dunno what you people think.

No. There was a global movement started by some international organizations. It's not the black screen, it's just something to advertise it.

It's actually going to be held on... March 29, 2008 of which the world will turn off their lights on a specific time altogether. For one hour, all lights will be off to minimize global warming.

Go Google it for details. "Earth Hour 2008"
Ill Make sure to turn my light off Smile I minimized it by using a night light XD

I did it inadvertently as I was sleeping with the lights and computer off during that time period xD

But yeah, I do think it's a really good idea.
i was well aware of this (earth hour) waaay ahead because i saw ads everywhere. and people were yelling at me on msn 'TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS AND COMPUTER LAINEY'

but geez i was writing my essay. so i turned off all the house lights except for a lil lamp by my comp so i don't go blind from the glowing screen...

lots of huge corporations in toronto were participating in earth hour.

Anyhow, I am interested in the statistics of this event. How much energy was saved? I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but wonder the impact on the environment if we had this event every month....or even every week..
Lol my friend posted this on this forum like 3 days ago. I was like wow.. what a nerd.. but oh well good cause =]
