SCROLL DOWN FOR KOREAN UNICODE GUIDE" !!PART 2!!

I've heard complaints about small english fonts and fonts in general inside kAU. The only way to fix this is to change your unicode settings on your computer... so let's begin the

1) You will need to access your control panel. Do this by going to Start > <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Control
Panel<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->:

2) Because some of you may not have Windows XP, I will do this through the classic view of the control panel. Once you open the Control Panel, click on <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Regional and Language Options<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->:

3) If you haven't already installed files for East Asian Languages, you will need to do so. <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Click on the Languages Tab, and click the box beside "Install Files for East Asian Languages"<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->. You may have to reboot your computer after doing so:

4) After this is completed, go through <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->steps 1 and 2<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> again, and then click the <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Advanced tab <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->instead of the Languages tab. Here, <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->select Korean from the drop-down menu in the section titled "Language for non-Unicode programs"<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->. Then, <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->click OK<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->. Again, you may need to restart after doing so:

5) Tada! and now you're done :lol: Your fonts will appear bigger in kAU, and, your computer is now able to display anything in korean without giving out random symbols :blink: . I hope this helped~

So you've installed your asian fonts and configured korean to display on $X, but HOW DO YOU TYPE? ;~; ??? Instructions below Big Grin :


1) Once again, you will need to go to your control panel. Do this by going to Start > <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Control
Panel<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->:

3) Go into the <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->Languages Tab <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> once again, but this time, click on <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->Details...<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->:

4) A window called <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->Text Services and Input Languages<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> should appear. Here, <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->click Add... <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> , <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->select Korean <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> from the drop down list of input languages and <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->click OK<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->:

5) Now, you are back in the Text Services and Input Languages window. <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->Select Korean as your default input language<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->, and <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->click Language Bar... <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> under Preferences after:

6) Here, <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->configure your Language Bar <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> to whichever settings you desire. And in case you don't know what the bar looks like, after you click OK, <!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->the bar outlined in red should appear <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> somewhere on your desktop, or should be morphed into your taskbar :ph34r: :

7) YOU'RE DONE ^ ^!!! Now try it out ;D.

Since we all need some love, press right alt to go into korean mode, and type in:

Can this fix a capitol "s" that looks like a 3?
does this work for other audition like japanese or chinese? :X

If you install the language packs for Japanese and Chinese too, yes. This is actually language packs for the Windows XP OS. So the Asian fonts that you select and install in your PC will appear in every program.
i have the language pack and i followed what seiko said but how come still so small?!

somebodee: I wouldn't know about the s, but it will make letters appear clearer, maybe making your capital "S" will be fixed as well ^^.

how can i type Japanese words in JAU?
:lol: hmm, juz wondering is there any way we can actually TYPE in korean if we do not haf e korean keyboard...juz curious..like when we type in english it automatically translate to korean Wink

I was also wondering how can I type Korean in kAU.. don't have to translate it to english though.. haha... any advise would be appreciated.. Big Grin

hi JuzSmile.. i just found out the way from one of the Korean players...

You only need to press "SPACE BAR + ALT (on the right side)" to switch to korean language. Toogle again to switch back to English Smile

eg. to type H 7 G => type wed on your keyboard
^ i tried that and it didn't work. =[
it cant find the lang pack thingy i think i dont have it where do i get it??? :huh:
