Hi all,

I've seen people typing in simplified chinese in AuditionSEA and I tried it myself but it doesn't work even after changing default input keyboards and whatnot. I'm currently using Windows Vista Business Edition. Is there anyone out there who can enlighten me on this? Thanx in advance =)
You still have to press the hot keys for the language you want to type in. For example my key sequences are Alt+shift+1 for Chinese and Alt+shift+2 for English.
does that refer to the hot keys within the game, or hot keys you set for the language setting for your pc? I operate on alt+shift to switch between english and chinese input, but i've already tried that after running auditionSEA and i still can only type in english...
Its the hotkeys that you set for the language settings. I tested it out earlier and when i typed i would get question marks and the character selection box didn't show up. The questions marks is a problem due to not having chinese set as my default display language but the character selection box, im not really sure about that. Instead of using just Alt+Shift, try setting individual hotkeys per language.
Hi again, thanks so much for the advice. =)

I played around with the language settings as well as hotkeys thing and finally found out a way to make it work. Basically, I had to set my default input keyboard to PRC Chinese so that when I enter AuditionSEA, the default keyboard would be loaded and in use in the game.

However, I found some flaws with typing Chinese in the game and I thought I could share them with everyone:

-> if your Playpark password contains english letters, then there is a high possibility that you will face much troubles. This is because there is no way you can switch back to the Chinese input keyboard after toggling to another form of input. Meaning, if you toggle from Chinese to English input keyboard to type in your password, then you cannot change it back to the Chinese input keyboard after any language-input-toggling.

-> You can only type Chinese characters in the lobby and for the names of rooms you create for the first time after entering the channels. The moment you enter a room, either one that you create yourself or one hosted by other players, the input goes back to the English keyboard. Then the same story goes and you will not be able to change the input keyboard back to Chinese while you are in the game.

-> I tried typing around for a bit in the lobby and it seems that if you hit space one extra time (meaning, you hit space once after successfully typing out some Chinese characters) the characters you previously typed will vanish. Luckily, punctuation marks don't do the same thing.

Well I officially give up on the whole typing Chinese thing. Hope this would be useful for other players curious about typing in Chinese characters while playing AuditionSEA.

Have a good day all =)
Nice find Tongue
well, i think it's redundent to type in chinese or have chinese IGN in SEA.

Cos not all can see those chinese characters :

Umm...Not really "redundant," more like pointless. But anyway, its for those who can see them Tongue
no harm wanting to have characters or words from your mother tongue in your IGN, or wanting to use your mother tongue, right? plus there are people who only know Chinese but they still play AuditionSEA, and they end up not being able to communicate with other people because they don't know enough English and they may not want to play the Chinese editions. (they can lag quite badly)
Thats true, but i highly doubt that Chinese-only speakers will start a tiny community in sAu, when they can do that in cAu, hkAu, or twAu and have better songs.
What about WINXP?
I'd like to type Simplified Chinese Smile)
Still learning this language but haven't typed it on PC before ...
It works almost the same as vista. Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages Tab > Details > Click the Add Button > Select Input Language > Ok > Key Settings > Select and Set Key Sequence > Ok > When you want to type in Simplified Chinese, just switch to it using the key sequence.
