Audition fanfic from me..which I held off for weeks... This is the prologue to the story while it seems like it's a chapter. If it's good then I may continue it :x Personally I think it sucks ><

Prologue - Blueline

A chilly evening swept through a small nameless town north of Tokyo where the lanterns lit the roads as if it was a festival. The kanji figures casted from the lanterns to honor the annual ritual for traditional purposes. The ritual was based off on another year where the higher gods watched over everyone and many people in this small town looked up to these gods all the time. In a town where you can’t really depend on anything or anyone to support you, you would have to strive for yourself it seems. However, the residents praise these “gods” for the sole reason that these gods give them all that the residents would need.

Little to be known is that the whole talk about faith and gods are nothing more than a ruse at best, provided that very few people in this town knows the real truth behind this relatively poor community. How they could easily gain food and clothing among other things are known by a handful of people. To those who know the truth however, are the ones who keep their mouths shut at any cost. The town’s well kept secret is very simplistic yet at the same time they are many parts to this secret.

A very notorious organization, known simply as International, is the sponsor of a hotspot located in Central Chiyoda. The hotspot is actually an underground club hidden right near the famous palace of Kokyo. The club is also simply referred to as Underground. What is so special about this place in particular is that it’s divided into specific districts. The most common district is the Blueline district where various dancers, each representing their specific residence in Japan, battle each other for purposes that only the dancers themselves have. It could be for street credibility, it could be for money, or it could be simply to dance. Never the less, illegal gambling and the smell of cigarettes are a common sight to see when in the Underground. However because the Blueline district is the most popular section out of the whole club, it’s also the cleanest area and ironically, smoking is prohibited.

Never the less, a teenager who is commonly considered as an outsider from this nameless town is the source of all of the riches that the town receives. The teenager, who goes by the name of Elios Kajima, is wildly considered to be one of the finest novices to ever emerge from the northern section of Tokyo yet no one ever knew where he came from. To the people outside of his town, he’s just some kid from Northern Tokyo with no dreams and no purpose in life, nothing more than a street punk. But to his close friends and to those who knows what he does for a living, Elios is considered to be the Robin Hood of Tokyo. Not only does he give the money that he wins in Blueline to his town, but also to the towns that are in a far worse state than his hometown. Although he had only been in the Underground for two weeks, his notoriety is nothing short from growing higher from every win that he gains. Even if he loses a dance-off, he’s known to show good sportsmanship about it. In an illegal place where everything and anything goes, you don’t see that too often.

However, there’s never a moment where Elios doesn’t stop to think about his life if he decided to go against his destiny. He wondered constantly if there was a way to just live life without feeling chained to the ground by his relatively poor background, or his past. While it’s true that the Underground and Blueline are places to lay off on the stress, it still seems like his life is moving in a pattern. A rather predictable pattern at that…

it's very good but there is one issue i have to raise...in the first sentence you used the word "oriental" .... most people nowadays frown on using that term...without getting too technical and creating a mass of problems....the word "oriental" is, quite simply, the language of colonialism and imperialism and evokes the sentiment of the East being somehow "inferior" to the West. Orientalism studies by the famed post-colonialist scholar Edward Said will tell you more about this than you would possibly care to know unless you are a nerdy English major like myself xD If you want to know what I'm talking about, just google orientalism or go here: http://www.wmich.edu/dialogues/texts/orientalism.htm

since we are friends i know that you would never ever do this intentionally but i just wanted to mention that before someone else did.

Chapter 1 - Azalea

“Excuse me! Sorry! Pardon me!” A young lady constantly said to the residents who cluttered the streets in a nearby district of Chiyoda. One look at the lady would assume that she was a schoolgirl on her way home, regarding the fact that it was evening time which was the usual time when class dismissed. However, even if the girl’s intentions were to get home, it was near impossible because around the time she was navigating through the human traffic, it was rush hour in the city. Rush hour in this section of Chiyoda is killer at its best. Because that Chiyoda as a whole is a very corporate city and everywhere you see there’s a tall skyscraper in sight, there’s many workers who get off at work at this time. Everything is close together so people rarely has the luxury of driving cars and this could lead to very hectic crowds.

“Ow! You idiot! Watch where you’re stepping, it isn’t that crowded to the point where you can’t see you know!” A passerby had unintentionally stepped on her right foot which made her let out a small wince. However, the sound she made was barely audible to hear in the first place.

“Ugh…How long do I have to go to find this place?” The poor lady wobbled to the side of a building and nearly collapsed after finally accepting the fact that city is a rough place to reside in. She had long since heard rumors of a certain leisure spot near downtown yet because she only overheard the conversation, the young lady had little to no information on the spot. Her luck soon turned from bad to somewhat good as she spotted a bar nearby. With her knowledge of street smarts, she knew that bars of any type were prominent sources of information though it usually came at a price. At this time however, the consequences of finding information meant nothing for her. With one last thought in her mind, she figured that whatever consequences came towards her, she would find a way to handle it.

The young lady stood in front of the bar and read the name out loud to herself as she looked at the sign. “So, this bar in particular is named Azalea, after the flower hmm?” The girl peered through the window and saw that there was yet another young lady, around her age, maybe even older, who was behind the counter. She was seen cleaning the glasses and placing them into specific trays, possibly preparing for service soon. After seeing that the door had a sign that said “Open”, the girl opened the door to the bar which made a slight squeak.

“Hello? Who are you and what are you doing here?” The lady behind the counter looked at the girl with interest and wonder. Out of all of the customers who visited Azalea, there was no one who was quite as young as this girl and the lady looked at her sternly.

“M…My name is Alenia. I’m terribly sorry to have walked in and bothered you like this, really.” Alenia bowed her head down slightly to show some respect which had the girl behind the counter look at her with even more wonder. Not only was this girl around the same age as her, but this girl also had such mannerism about herself. The girl behind the counter took this as a pleasant surprise and proceeded into introducing herself.

“Pleasure to meet you Alenia, my name is Shannon.” The girl proceeded to clean the glasses with such skill that it had taken Alenia’s attention away from Shannon and onto the glasses in the tray which looked so spotless. It was clear to her that this girl was a pro at this, but Alenia made no comment as to not wanting to change the subject. “You heard of a particular leisure spot across from the city park and the imperial palace near here?”

Shannon’s face molded into a stunned expression and sat down on the chair, clearly not expecting this girl to ask her about the Underground. Surely Alenia must have been mentioning the Underground as Shannon assumed that that place would best fit her description. It was right at that moment where Alenia saw something in her eyes, which hinted that Shannon knew about the place that she was talking about, though Alenia also knew that she was being very hesitant about it. After a very long awkward silence, Shannon spoke but in a low tone as if it was some sort of secrecy.

“…You must know that in order to have heard about the place, you would have known that the place is a well guarded secret. I don’t know if you ran into the right person or not, providing that I know about the place, but I’m very cautious of spreading info like this around…” Shannon explained to Alenia, which was an all too common message to her. This would usually mean that Alenia would have to bribe the bartender for information. Even if she felt that Shannon was different from most other bartenders, in more ways than one, Alenia still couldn’t abandon the fact that a bartender is a bartender.

As she reached for her wallet, Shannon’s hand firmly placed onto Alenia’s hand and she reassured Alenia. “I’m not a shark like the rest of these bartenders in Chiyoda my friend. Don’t offer me your money because I, for some reason, trust you Alenia.” Shannon smiled which really took Alenia’s breath away. Never in her life had anyone ever trusted her, nor have they ever decided against cheating her out of her money. Alenia had to take all of this inside of her and it took her a long time to come up with any words to say to Shannon. She had sensed this from her as well because Shannon reached into the drawer and took out a map, which looked like a brochure to the common eye.

“Those are the directions of getting there, thank me later.” Shannon smiled again and got back to setting up the bar, arranging the various liquors and wines and sake in specific order. It was still a mystery to Alenia how a young girl could be so talented with bars. “Maybe I’ll see you around there?” Shannon asked Alenia and winked.

“Yeah, probably so, thank you for your help and I really appreciate it!” Alenia said no more and ran out of the door. She felt a sharp twang of guilt inside of her, hoping that no one would know her true intentions or who she really was.

FAQs Time!

Q: Shannon..? Alenia...? What happened to Elios?

A: As you see in this chapter, Alenia is the main perspective of this chapter. Alenia's role will be more expanded as I continue this but in short, Alenia is based off of Meli ^__^;; For those who know her then you should know who she is XDD For those who don't...shesmywifeyyeah*cough*
Shannon, again, will be expanded as I go on and she is also an important character but she is based off of....*drumroll*...HANAKO CHAN! Yes Hana, this is you XDD
Elios will be back soon. He's not the main character in the story, infact, no one is. Everyone is important in their own right

Q: ...Bartender?

A: I can explain too... I made -Hana- a bartender because of influence of a game I played... The game was Yakuza, one of the best games I have played for PS2 in my own opinion. Anyways, there was a bartender who was mainly the "Talk about anything and have a drink in a peaceful environment" type of person. She was calm and took into consideration about everything that was going on. Since I though of Hana as a helping person, she's a bartender.

Q: ...Who is Alenia suppose to be?

A: THIS WILL BE EXPL---*says nicely* It will be explained later on :3

Q: Why are these girls so young yet they are experienced in the streets? (Alenia's knowledge of information and Shannon's skills of bartending)

A: Chiyoda is a very rough place in this story where the strong is to be meant to survive at any cost. The knowledge learned is vital to live.

Q: Isn't this an AUDITION fanfic? Why are there no such Audition references yet?

A: Operative word is YET. I decided to take a serious approach in the Audition Fanfiction world where I would attempt to make a story behind it. However, since this is focused around Audition, I will add alot of references in the near furture. This is just the beginning so you can't expect much of yet ^^

ooh, a mystery at the end, very nice Tongue i liked it!
