waa guys~ i need your help! i see those nice gifs you make, help me make them!
i've gotten the fraps to avi part down, using fraps and virtualdub to compress....
but how are you making your animated gifs from the movies? and also, is there a program that'll let me crop the size too?
thankies~ ^^
i think you can make them from Adobe Imageready. i know how to make VERY simple ones but i don't know how to transfer from fraps to gifs. Gamingnerd has a cool gif audition siggie~ he should know. xD
You can crop the video in VirtualDub by going into Video->Filters. Next click Add, and select the "Null Transform" option, and click OK. Towards the bottom of the previous window, the "Cropping" button should be available, click that, and use the little scroll arrows to crop the image.
To make the actual GIF image, u can download a program called "Ulead GIF Animator". It's a 15 day free trial, and in case your gonna be making lots of gifs, I'll go and search for a free program.
EDIT: I should also note that you MAY wanna also cut down on the framerate in VirtualDub, by going into Video->Frame Rate, and changing it to either process every third frame, or the one below it, and changing it to every fourth frame (cuz if u process EVERY SINGLE FRAME, that gif image u make will be MASSIVE HUGE and would take FOREVER to load on the forums! :lol

omgs I didn't know it was that easy.
I made mine by taking 160 printscreens and manually aligning them to the stage window in Flash.
Then two days later my bandwith overloaded. <_<

Well I had a feeling that there was a MUCH easier way than printscreening like a bat outta hell, so I looked up ways that take AVI and put into GIF, and then researched on how to crop video, and thankfully I didn't have to download anything to do that, since I learned how to do it through VirtualDub...so the basic plotline I used was:
Fraps - record footage into 30FPS AVI file
VirtualDub - decrease framerate to process every 3 or 4 frames + crop video to desired view
Ulead GIF Animator - Making actual Animated GIF image using new cropped up AVI saved from VD.

So u must be another one of those C-NET haters then, huh?
(I went to <a href="http://www.download.com" target="_blank">download.com</a> to find my GIF maker prog)
thanks to you gaming, i can make stupid things like this!!
yeah, it's a cool >>;; shhhhhhhhh.
i like that move. if you do it at a club (or at least the ones here in dallas), people will say "OW OW", so we dubbed it "the ow ow" move. =)
lol kinda funny. you making circles? hahaha. xD
MEGA BUMP FTW!
Anyways I kinda use the same way as GN on the fraps and virtual dub part...yet... Instead I use Imageready which comes with Photoshop as it was addressed eariler in the thread. Imageready, if you're uploading clips, only takes .mov files, not .avi as it would be if you use fraps, so i used a video converter that i have. Then I edit it in Imageready, the resizing, the arangement of the clips, etc etc...
Buuut I just used the resources I have avalible to me...maybe my option might work though its ten times confusing than GN's but it's just my 2 cents lol i'm bored
lol didnt work on mine....all i see is a "x"
