Sounds more like a ram or a harddisk error to me..... Had a similar problem cause the windows cd i had was corrupted too.
don't now if i was suppose to, but i've updated my driver by going to the s3 site. updated from 420 drv to 584 drv. not sure if this was the right thing to do, but it has'nt helped as far as the game (audition) is concerned, still won't let me play.
Try and start the game up.... let it do it's error thing..... Then right click "My computer" choose administrate and click "log" (i guess my versions in danish so something similar to log) and doubleclick program..... At the top of the list there should be your latest error....double click that and highlight the error and press "Ctrl+C" and paste it here!
I'm suffering from the same problem. I tried reinstalling and what not, and I still get that error message.

Here's a pic of what i'm getting.

Anyone have an idea as to how to fix the problem?

Post that error log that i told debi how to do...... It looks like a hardisk or RAM problem
Well when I right clicked "My Computer", I didn't see an administrate selection. So I clicked 'manage' Then I went to Event Viewer, and then System. I found a list of errors that occured, and there was one called 'Application Popup' which was for audition.

I clicked it, and I got a pop up with it's description. This is what it said.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Application popup: [6"gpb#[f:RS,)#tR3nE`<B#G"nC<txx_ZhQzmUj=x[^S@x] wq*I.?.uMO: Audition.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x7c91142e" referenced memory at "0xc7585858". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

For more information, see Help and Support Center at <a href="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp" target="_blank">http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp</a>.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

And now i'm at the 'Help and Support Center' window, and here is what it says.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Details
Product: Windows Operating System
Event ID: 26

Version: 5.2
Symbolic Name: STATUS_LOG_HARD_ERROR

Explanation
The program could not load a driver because the program user doesn't have sufficient privileges to access the driver or because the drive is missing or corrupt.
