Ok, this is not happening on my computer. Rather, I'm helping someone who has been stuck with this issue since patch 6030 and after he sent the laptop for servicing. We're using Remote Assistance to check out what may have gone wrong with his PC.
His SEA patcher does not open anything at all after we double-clicked it. He is considered to be a local player (singaporean/malaysian). We cleared his computer of all potential malware issues.
The first odd thing is that this computer blocked DEP function totally even though he is the Computer Administrator. I managed to get around this - unblocked it by editing the boot.ini file, and added in both Audition.exe and Patcher.exe to the exclude list (as well as to Windows Firewall, or otherwise turned it off). Not working it seems.
So, I tried using the Audition.exe shortcut which bypasses the need for the Patcher. We have not patched everything to 6033 (but are currently trying to do so right now). However, on opening Audition.exe with that bypass it seems that all we got is a black screen, sounds, and nothing else. We have to alt-tab (or in my case send an automated ctrl+alt+del) to exit.
We're currently on the problem right now, any suggestions to why this is happening is really much appreciated.
(It's on a LAN connection. There appears to be no Firewall other than the Windows one, but he used to have an Antivirus program he says, yet he cannot recall what it was I think. I'll try to ask him again.)
Also, is Direct Draw needed for Audition? It seems that it is not available here =S
Same happening to me.... patcher wont start, I mean not only Au patcher; any patcher wont start on my PC. I tried to do everything i could too, including the reinstall of network drivers, turning off firewall, adding audition.exe and patcher.exe to the exclude list, checked for viruses and spywares.... I checked possibly everything, now Im out of ideas. The Internet is working fine, I can play with every game I want (except Audition because I cannot patch it.....) Any smart idea?
Myka can you check if your DirectDraw and Direct3D is enabled/disabled or not available? (Go start, run, type in dxdiag and then check what Display tab DirectX information says)
Do you have/ever had any Firewall program other than the Windows Firewall one?
Also, what's your operating system? You can check out the details through dxdiag as well.
Maybe those with similar problems can help out here if we can compare what is on the affected computers...
But my friend is going to probably reformat his computer...I hope it will work by that =X
P.S. The bypass patcher method does not work for AuditionSEA anymore. I tried on both my own and his computers, didn't work.
Well lets see.... DirectDraw and Direct X are enabled.... My operating system is Windows XP Professional (it is fully updated, just updated it a few days ago) and I have only Windows Firewall. Actually, it is not my PC, it is my roomate's, but till I bring my PC here in the dorm, Im using this. This computer wasnt formatted for at least 3 years... But since it isnt mine I cant tell my roommate to format it. Im sure if your friend formats his computer it will work but the thought only that I cannot do anything about this problem makes me disappointed and want to find a solution (and maybe help others who have the same problem).
Was thinking if one of the Window updates for XP professional might have screwed up something...
My XP Professional computer can run Audition perfectly and I usually never update it with any sort of Windows updates...
Did you try and make a new computer administrator account and see if you can run Audition on there? I didn't tried this yesterday but I ran out of solutions too so I'm leaving my friend to do the rest.
P.S. I remember something different on my friend's computer. He was having some 7.00 beta version of IE. (Maybe you want to check for any beta programs.) I heard beta programs can affect computer systems in odd ways but I am not very sure on this.
I'll see what the enquiry system is going to say about this issue.
Well, about Windows updates... I met this problem first at summer as I once used this computer and I dont think it was up to date then (I had a lot to update now as I tried to solve the problem). After that came the new game file that contained the patch too and I could play as before. Until now... New patch came out >>
I didnt try to make a new administrator account yet, but I will.... Lets see what happens then.
I dont think that there is any problem with my IE, I read on the Au site that the game (at least the North American version) isnt seem to be compatible with IE 7. So I checked and I have 6.xx something.
Ill try out that administrator thingy and hope it will work. Thank you for the suggestion!

I hope it works =)
I'm using IE 7.0.5730.11...so it shouldn't really be the problem. I could use the North American version before they IP-banned foreign players.
I got another idea too but it is to reinstall the whole OS on the computer...however XP professional CD may not be available to all...and if you forgot your activation key for the OS this is not possible to do either...
the same thing is happening to me.. nothing happens after i click the my audition icon
will it help if i join another server?
Hmm no idea...btw my friend reformatted his computer and he can play AuditionSEA again.
