Hey ppl! This is my first post, plz dont flame or smthg T.T
I was wondering, since getting perfects in a row is the escence of achieving high scores, id thought a topic about that would be nice. Anyways, here are the questions:

1- Getting perfects with dance mode (pressing tab) is easier than normal bar mode? Cons/Pros of both modes?

2- Does playing audition in windowed mode affect timing?

3- Does playing with programs at the background affect timing? (Can someone post ram usage of audition im too lazy to check myself)

4- What are your methods of getting perfects? (Mental counting, tapping foot, just "feel the music", do u watch the bar???)

If you feel like saying something else, please do so!

I think thats about everything... gl hf Big Grin
okok since no one is posting, ill give you my opinion:

1- i THINK that dance mode does indeed help you to get perfects. Its just a feeling i got, id say its easier... but maybe i just had a lucky 7 moment when i tried it.
Pros dance mode: Colored arrows, easier perf?
Cons: Tiny arrows, in finisher everything goes same color

2- Again, i THINK that it affects timing, and on top of that, it affects lag. I believe that the games runs more smoothly in fullscreen than in windowed mode.

3- Im pretty sure it does. When i have messenger on sometimes the gameplay gets a little bit choppy, which totally screws your chances on getting perfects

4- Well, currently im trying to do mental count, but i find its the same thing. Besides, it drains the concentration you need to get the arrows right, you might miss. I just "feel" when is the right beat of the song and press space! (Start couting 1..2.3..4 before the games starts, it helps alot IMO)
Cheers
 For me tab mode maybe easier for slow songs. I'm always on window mode so I'm used to it  Just lags a lot thats all. And yes, having programs opened in the background probably does affect your gameplay 'cause I always have my MSN on and when someone opens a new convo with me, i get lag hell

My method for getting perfs? I have none I really just feel the music and press whenever i feel ^^ Ooh. But i do find playing with one hand easier then two =) (two meaning one on space/ctrl and one on arrow keys)

Yay thats not heard every day!
How come???
T_T I actually have hard times playing 1-hand when i'm on phone ... How could it be easier T_T!
 I dunnot I got used to it cause the CTRL button is close to my arrow keys ^^ If its for 8-key though, then i have to use two hands =x

Yeah, I remember Burnout saying he plays like that sometimes =o. I think it would screw up my perfects though.

I've tried every meathod of getting perfs.. EVER

Counting in my head - screws up perfs AND arrows

Tapping my foot - My foot loses the beat a little as I put in 9 arrows at a time, not to mention the response time from your foot and hand aren't exactly the same which usually throws me off into greats

Hitting the arrows to a beat - Worked very well, but was still kindof chancy if I was just slightly off.

Bobbing my head - Worked pretty well, ruins concentration a bit

Feelin' the groove - Works well and still use it half of the time

Just hitting it when it feels right - Works the best usually, use this the other half of the time.

Hm i dont see the diference between those 2...

Do you see the bar when u hit space?

And please can someone confirm 1 and 2 plz???? Rolleyes
hmmmm...anyone tried looking the the "blinking" of the "perfect bar"?

for me...>_> i looked at the blinking of that "perf" bar. when its going from blue to white, it'll "disappear" and "re-appear" at the spot to get perfect. =/

maybe this is = listening to the beat of the song? >_>
I just look at the bar and pray

Tried the tab mode thingy and the arrows seem easier, but I have no clue when to hit space
I don't really think there's any difference between the two modes. The blink of the bar is indeed the beat. But I don't pay any attention to the bar at all, I just pay attention to the arrow and listen. I do a lot better if I don't look at the bar. For me windowed-mode doesn't affect timing at all. And like Esperanza I have a lot easier time playing with just one hand on the arrows and ctrl-key. I seem to be able to tap the keys with the beat much easier than if I'm using both my hands. Don't know why. xD

 For the tab mode, you have to just listen, feel the beat and hit when you think its right Big Grin I think you'd have to get used to the music before using this mode tho
Well, for TAB mode, you press the space bar when the "ance" part connects with the D to form "Dance".
