Audition Global

Just what it said. Reinstalled, tried a different account. In novice it just randomly messes up and stops doing anything, get no new arrows or anything, just sticks there. Dunno how the hell to fix this one at this point, but it's making playing the game impossible.

I'm on a LAN, with a fixed IP, running through another computer running WinXP Internet Connection Sharing. It's also firewalled. Gonna turn that off and see if that makes any damn difference...

- I downloaded from the official site, not bittorrent.
- I uninstalled Audition
- I cleared out the Audition ActiveX files
- I cleaned out my registry for dead keys
- Reinstalled Audition
- Shut down my firewall
- Shut down my antivirus
- Changed my LAN settings
- Tried my gf's account who has no problems

I'm basically at a loss why the hell I'm the only one who gets this bloody bug randomly whenever more than 2 people play at novice. It might be more than just me, really.

Not sure what you mean. Does the song stop midway or the game? It could be a bug or check to see if your comp. fits in with the minimum/maximum comp. specs.

The comp's way above minimum specs. Athlon XP 2000+, 1.6 ghz, geforce FX 5200 video card, 1.5 gigs of RAM, cable connection, etcetera.

As for stuck. It just gets... stuck sometimes after a cycle finishes. No new arrows come up to punch in, I don't get misses, I cant do anything but watch and chat. It's like being put on the bench.

from what I can tell its an ICS problem. Probably port forwarding. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it, heh.

Sorry can't help you. I was never a computer expert guy. My comp specs are below the minimum but I don't get that problem. Sorry.

Well so far one person who used to get the same thing has said the minute he got off ICS the problem was fixed so it's definately something like that. I'm hooked up straight to the net now and hoping to catch ALL the ports audition uses. Sense says that if it's an ICS problem its a port forwarding problem, which dictates that if I manually add the ports to be forwarded the problem should be fixed.

EDIT: Or not, just got off it and its still doing it despite being connected directly to the net...

And it basically does it for Free too, so I'm basically screwed as far as playing this game goes if I can't find out what's causing it or if the lazy devs dont get off their asses and make it a bit more robust, heh. It's doing it on choreo in free server too. ><

Well I fixed it. Though I can't believe how.

I went into my BIOS and turned my Front Side Bus speed to 133 mhz and my multiplier to 12.5 from 166/x10. That's closer to my processor's base speed, and suddenly it was better, not fixed though. So I went in and found the closest possible combination, and set it to that (145 x11.5) and now it's fixed.

Makes you wonder about how the heck Audition was coded that anything like that would even have effect. :blink:

EDIT: Or maybe not, still bug on fast songs, yay. -_-

EDITx2: OMG, finally fixed it. Apparantly the problem, which makes no goddamn sense, was an old stick of RAM which was slower than my other 2 sticks. So I pulled it out and all is well, can even play back not-bugged-peoples' recordings and have them like, not be all crazy off target. So yay, FINALLY FIXED FOR REAL.
