Here's a program (FREE) that lets you use any USB Gamepad or Dancepad with Audition!
For PC devices, just plug-and-play.
For PS2/XBOX/GAMECUBE devices, you just need one of those PS1/PS2/XB/GC-->USB devices from Lik-Sang.com (about 5 bux)
You can assign any buttons you want to the UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT arrows,
and even assign any button to be the SPACEBAR!
How fun would it be with a DrumMania or Pop'n Music controller?!!

Ehh..that sucks, I was actually considering getting one of those gcn->usb devices.. <_<
You must be using an incompatible USB adapter, because it works for me!
I tried with a PS2 dual-shock controller and it works just fine!
The guys over at stepmania have a list of all the approved usb-adapters:

Good Luck
EDIT:
Oh, one weird thing about the program, it has predefined 'labels' for buttons like 'Button 1' may not be the 'Button 1' on your particular gamepad. But after some trial-and-error, you will get your configuration working perfectly, and then you can save that setup
it still dosent work for me bummer.

do u guys know why when i used a PS/2 keyboard hooked with a PS/2 to USB converter onto my laptop.. the keys sometimes doesnt register..?
i duno the answer.. im asking.. hehe.. this is one main reason i dont use my laptop to play audition.. i use my desktop computer.. but laptop speed is faster. and better video card.
Sorry for digging out this topic, but I have a question to this JoyToKey tool. Does it really work in Audition?
I have a StormTrooper usb pad from SpeedLink, which is not supported by AU. So I tried to relink the keyboard keys to my pad via this tool. But it looks like AU's blocking JoyToKey, which works in the background. This way relinking works in windows, but not ingame.
I am so lost.. I want to use my damn pad, but nothing helps >_< meh
Any help is appreciated. ^^
i don't think you can use a dancepad to play audition... i believe someone's tried to do that before
AUDITION DISABLES THIS PROGRAM! Yes it DOES work for pretty much any PC game u wanna use it for (Maple Story, Flyff, Stepmania, etc) but try on Audition and it won't work. I've tried both controller and dancepad, I've done all kinds of configurations I know of on ALL versions of Audition, and none of it works. Audition is strictly keyboard input, there's no "work-around" to getting Joy2Key to register the keys for you by means of controller.
offtopic: wow o_o...digged out a more-than-1year-old topic D:
funny thing is... my G15 can macro single button presses. But won't macro chain arrows (like if i set 1119 to a macro and press the macro button, it does nothing). Maybe you need a macro dancepad xDD
the taskkeyhookWD.dll already hooks the keyboard keys, they can't be hooked twice, which is why joy2key doesn't work
Alright, thanks for all elaborations. Looks like there's really no way, but to buy a new controller for me ._.
