Well, I watched FF7 AC (Advent Children) from sheer boredom and the fact that I'm a huge FF7 fan.
Good Things
-Now there is one good thing about this movie, that is the animation.

-Storyline
-Voices
-Acting
-Suspense

well it was meant to be fan service, and it did a heck of a job of that lol. It's alot better than "The Spirits within"
Yea english dubs sucked ass for it, get the original with subs u'll find it alot more enjoyable xD.

Advent Children was what Spirits Within should have been IMO..
Yea I agree there was a lot of fanservice in there, but having studied computer animation, I can totally appreciate all the work they put into the fight scenes, models, etc. It all looks gorgeous..
In terms of story...
Could they have done it better? Oh yea.. Could it have been worse? Definitely. So I guess I can't complain. I love FF7 to pieces (still my favorite RPG of all time), so maybe I'll never be completely satisfied with anything they give to fans.
I will say this though. If you have the DVD, watch the commentary/behind-the-scenes footage. It explains a lot about the design choices the creators made while making the movie, including story elements. I liked how they explained stuff.. and I guess I could see why they did it like that..
I want to work for a Japanese company.. their concept development process sounds so creative.. ;_;
the movie was good. i watched the original ( i thnk; it was all in japanese with subs ) = but i think i onyl watched the second half of it. ><

Eh the movie wasnt that bad. Id rate it an 8 out of 10, since Im a huge FF7 fan, and FF7 WAS my first RPG :o They prolly couldve done better on the movie though...
Eh.. I didn't play the game and only watched it for the action xD That's why I love it... even though I didn't understand much about the characters but... the animation is the best xD
